Wigan Athletic are top of the Premier League for value for money reports financial giants ING Direct following research into the cost of season tickets in relation to the clubs on field performances.
Sitting proudly at the top of the value for money table is a real shot in the arm for the Latics who work tirelessly to attract fans through the gates with very reasonably priced tickets.
In second spot sees our neighbours Blackburn and their recent 'three games for £20` offer was a huge success and saw a swell on the attendances at Ewood as they successfully battled against relegation.
At the bottom end we see a sorry sight with Newcastle propping up the table and as they face the real threat of being relegated from the Premier League on Sunday it looks like their fans have been hard done by this season on the financial front.
ING Direct chief executive Johan de Wit said: 'Many of our customers have dedicated savings plans in place to manage the cost of their season ticket.
'However, it is clear by the research that lots of supporters find it difficult to deal with such a large outlay at the beginning of the season, so it is good to see the majority of Premier League teams appreciate this and are not taking fans loyalty for granted.'
