Bramble's The Man!!!!

At a glamerous awards evening held in the South Stand lounge and attended by all club officials, players (with the exception of Mido, Sibs and surprise surprise Zaki), sponsors and fans, Titus Bramble picked up several awards.

These included the travel club away player of the year, the media player of the year and the two most important awards of the evening, the players player of the year and the supporters player of the year.

Titus who is as modest and unassuming off the pitch as he is on it received the awards to tremendous acclimation and has been a fine ambassador for our club this season both on and off the pitch.

Other awards were goal of the season which went to Antonio Valencia's net breaker against Man City at home, Lee Cattermole was voted young player of the year and Maynor Figueroa for outstanding contribution to the team, playing in every premier league game so far this season.

Other notable highlights were Scharner being the joint winner of the heads and tails game, Steve Bruce's wry comment about the absence of Amr Zaki and Mr Whelan's publically declared love for Wigan Athletic.

The evening was once again a throughly enjoyable occasion with all the players more than willing to sign autogrpahs, haev photos taken etc re-enforcing the image of Wigan as a community club.

I look forward to next season's 'do'.
