Steve Bruce 8/13 For Sunderland Job

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is 8/13 favourite with Sky bet to be installed as the new Sunderland manager, even 5Live are reporting that it is a done deal with only compensation to sort out.

With no confirmation or just as worryingly no denial coming out of the JJB the Latics look like they could be seeking their 5 manager in a little over two years following the departure of Paul Jewell, Chris Hutchings, caretaker Frank Barlow and now Steve Bruce.

If Wigan fans worst fears are realised and Bruce moves up to join the Wearside revolution then there would be only one name on the Latics faithful lips, Roberto Martinez of Swansea City and how ironic it would be if indeed 'Bobby` did succeed Bruce seeing as he released the Spaniard when he was first in charge at the JJB in 2001.

Too many rumours and no denials, must be truth in this one

I'll be really dissapointed if he goes so soon there's just no loyalty in football.

If he does go I will be worried about the future of quite a few of our players, Titus, Figgy, Rodders etc

Eh life will go on. Kirkland, Valencia, Scharner, Bramble, Heskey, Brown, Boyce, Melchiot were all signed by other managers. Palacios was a Wenger tip. Figgy we found because of Palacios, Roda Catt Watson Cho and Zoggy are the big ones Bruce has found. Really hope it goes to Martinez if Bruce cuts out. He's got the chops and is a fantastic up and coming manager.
