Wigan agree compensation for Bruce

Wigan's decision, follows an agreement on compensation, believed to be five million pounds and with the takeover by Ellis Short expected today, Steve Bruce is expected barring any hitches over personal terms, to be unveiled as the new Sunderland manager by the end of the week.

Whilst this is undoubtably a blow to Wigan, it opens the way for the return of its favourite son, Roberto Martinez.

Swansea however, are expected to fight hard to retain their charismatic manager, whose style of football has won him many pludits.

With most players going away at the end of the week, Wigan will have to move fast to secure a replacement.

Bad news but I think we all feared it would come to this anyways
worbo
expected it to be the barcodes, never thought he would consider going to the Mackems
baskerville
I think it's highly unlikely at the moment that Martinez will join you
KevinE
very unlikely i say, when he does feel he has done all that he can with us, he'll take a much bigger step than Wigan, the smallest team in the prem, why go there ???? much bigger clubs will want him when he does decide to go
cyjax
what a nightmare, sorry this is happening to you folks!
