Martinez makes his choice

Martinez makes his choice

Martinez in an interview with a Glasgow newspaper is quoted as saying ,'it is one of Europe's top jobs.'

Swansea have so far resisted Celtic's overtures but with a £1.2 million release clause apparently in his contract, Celtic may get their man.

It would also appear that a major re-structure at Wigan may be needed, with Steve Bruce wanting to take all his backroom staff to Sunderland leaving only John Benson at the JJB.

It is not clear whether the compensation agreed includes the backroom staff but if not another battle for recompense appears likely.

Wigan will need to move quickly to bring in a replacement, so that there is reasonable time to strengthen the squad.

The Guardian says: 'Martínez enjoyed adulation from Wigan fans during his playing career and sources at Swansea believe that would be his most likely destination if he were to leave'. So it seems what ever you read there is a different take on things

Besides getting dumped out of the Champions League in the first round and the battle to the death with Rangers there's not much room for growth in the SPL with Celtic. If he wins the SPL: great that's what you are supposed to do. i.e. status quo. If he doesn't: he's a flop. Less money, less coverage, worse pitches, worse players... Or am I looking at it wrong?
