Bye Bye Bruce

Bye Bye Bruce

Bruce is now trying to secure the move of his back room staff at the JJB , Eric Black, Keith Bertschin and Nigel Spinks to thE Stadium of Light.

Back at Wigan, supremo Dave Whelan has apparently been put off the compensation requested by Swansea for the ex Latics favourite and is now looking elsewhere.

The favoured candidate now appears to be former manager Paul Jewell, whose unemployed status would negate any compensation.

A move for Jewell would not sit easily with many Wigan fans, who feel that Jewell had taken Wigan as far as he could during his last tenure of the club and would view this to be a retrograde step.

jewell has one supporter in reserve keeper Mike Pollitt who said he would welcome Jewell's appointment if it happened.

Other names in the frame are Craig Levein at Tannadice who has distanced himself from a move and Darren Ferguson at Peterboro, whose chairman Barry Fry has said that there has been no communication at all from Wigan.

I'm surprised Bruce has gone to Sunderland. They haven't proven themselves to be a club who hold on to managers. But at least you get some compensation -- I heard 1.5Million meat and potato pies are on their way south.

1.5million for bruce? ... that is suggesting Bruce is less valuble to a team than... Haden Mullins. who's dreadful. (in case you didn't know). I don't entirely understand why chairmen are prepared to shell out huge sums of money for average players, but then the fee for a very good manager is tiny.
