16 million pound bids for Valencia received

Luis Antonio Valencia is poised to leave Wigan for over 16 million pounds, although the final destiantion is unknown, with two bids received from two of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Valencia, who is probably the most talented player ever to wear the colours of Wigan Athletic will be much missed by the Wigan fans.

With a new manager due to arrive this week, it is to be hoped that the money recieved for Valencia will be used to strengthen the squad, although worrying stories coming out of the club, suggest the majority of the money may be earmarked to service the club's debts.

There is a little bit of pressure starting to mount down at the Latics, no win in seven games and sitting bottom of the pile, the sooner we can get a three points haul in the bag the better.
