Paul Scharner Wanted by Spurs and Everton

Wigan Athletic defender Paul Scharner has declared that he is a wanted man and that Spurs and Everton along with Premier League rivals Fulham are keen on acquiring his services.

This is now becoming an annual circus with Scharner talking up his prospects of leaving the Latics at the end of every season since he joined the club in January 2006.

Last season the madcap Austrian made it clear that he would be off at the seasons end only to sign a contract extension, but this season he says that he is disappointed with the clubs failure to qualify for Europe and that is something he wants to experience again.

Scharner also claims that there is interest in signing him from at least two German clubs though he would prefer to stay in England, both Fulham and Everton have qualified to participate in the newly formed Europa League whilst Spurs, like the Latics will have just domestic honours to vie for.

Scharner told Berlin based BZ am Sonntag: "Tottenham, Everton and Fulham are interested in me, just like Hertha and Hamburg"

"I would prefer to stay in England."

I thought he was working nicely with Hugo. Would be a shame to see him go.
