Scharner Dismisses Sunderland as Backward Step

One man that wont be following former boss Steve Bruce and leaving Wigan Athletic for Sunderland this summer is Latics Austria international defender Paul Scharner.

Scharner, never one to mince his words admits that he wants to move on, but not follow Bruce because not only does he consider Sunderland a bad option he isn`t too keen on Bruce either.

Speaking to the press Scharner says: "My fee is 6 million and there has been interest from England and Germany.

"It was a big surprise when Steve Bruce left Wigan, but I cant see myself joining Sunderland.

"They are certainly not an improvement on Wigan and besides I didn`t get on too well with Bruces style of play"

Well said Scharns

He's not wrong. Same with Hutch two years ago! Scharner was the only one who let us know what was going on behind the scenes.
