Deja Vu as Latics cancel press conference

On that occasion, a dispute over a loyalty bonus demanded by Birmingham, resulted in Wigan postponing a packed press conference, claiming that they hadn't been aware of this bonus until late in the day.

This time is appears Swansea are demanding compensation for the contracted backroom staff, that Martinez wishes to bring with him.

Brenda Spencer stated that they were only made aware of this last night and had tried to contact the Swansea chairman without success. As a consequence, the announcement of Martinez's appointment is postponed until the problem is resolved.

This is the second time in 18 months, that Wigan have been embarassed in front of the world's media and the lack of preparation in sorting through potential obstacles raises questions about the professionaism of the club.

Is it really that big a deal? We will get Martinez.

its symptomatic of the amateurism of the club.. if we want to sell ourselves to players this isn't the way to go about it
baskerville
Well when you put it that way...

Sorry, but I don't think Brenda Spencer is up to the job. She just doesn't come across very professional. And that bloody accent, oh my god. Is it a wonder there is always a hickup with Wigan Ath, I bet they are biting their lips on the other side of the negotiation table.
