Jewell In The Clear

Wigan Athletic manager Paul Jewell will not face FA charges following his criticism of referee Phil Dowd following the draw with Blackburn Rovers. The FA has however given him a warning about his future conduct.

This is effectively a tacit admission that his comments about Dowd were correct. Dowd was replaced by Graham Poll for the match between Manchester United and Arsenal. Poll had originally been due to referee the Spurs vs Man City match that day so the claims that Poll had been injured were also dubious.

I just do not believe it? Crikey, they have actually come down on his side. They had to throw in the warning though, didn't they?
