Wigan Athletic - The Ugly Side of Football.

Vital Latics member and Wigan Athletic fan Keith Gore takes an out of the box look at the reason behind the managerial changes down at Robin Park, over to you Keith:

There has been a great deal of criticism aimed at Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan for allowing the seemingly unopposed departure of manager Steve Bruce to Sunderland.

No effort was shown to keep him, on the contrary it seemed Mr Whelan could not get him 'out of the door fast enough` and he very quickly negotiated a compensation package with his opposite number Niall Quinn

However, perhaps Mr Whelan is far shrewder than we think

A recent poll carried out has put Steve Bruce down as the ugliest manager in the Premier League, even beating Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and little horse features Gianfranco Zola of West Ham.

In today's modern game where 'image' seems to be everything in football, Mr Whelan has managed to swap the ugliest Manager for the best looking, at half the cost!

Take a look below

Steve Bruce

Roberto Martinez

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

But can Roberto succeed in the Premier League?

Whatever happens we know his heart is in the job, which is more than could be said for Steve Bruce.

It is true that Steve Bruce is a singularly ugly looking bloke. I often thought he looked more like a Rugby League player than an ex-footballer. I showed a photo of him to the missus and she said he looked like someone who would run a "protection racket."
