Let The Fans Decide on Stand Name

Let The Fans Decide on Stand Name

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan is not one to shy away from controversy and though last week he announced that he would be 'giving` the Latics the DW Stadium he also announced that the North Stand is set to be re-named the Billy Boston Stand.

Now quite a few Latics supporters have taken umbridge at this, not only is a stand in OUR stadium set to be named after a Rugby League player but there has been no mention of any similar re-naming in honour of the Latics past.

So several Wigan Athletic fans sites have started a campaign to get the East Stand at the stadium re-named to reflect something from our past and Vital Latics would like to join our friends from Wiganer.net, Cockney Latics, Ye Old Tree and Crown and Wigan Athletic Fans on Line in asking for a re-name in honour of our club.

Vital Latics regular Zakky has asked for a poll to be set up on our home page to gauge the feeling of the fans and what, if anything, they would want the East Stand re-named as.

The poll is situated on the right side of this page, just select your choice of answer and then hit the submit button, we will forward the result of the poll to the club and see what response their is.

There is a thread in the forum for your ideas about re-naming the East Stand click here to leave your suggestion
