Aston Villa Eye Titus Bramble

Aston Villa Eye Titus Bramble

Wigan Athletic defender and player of the season Titus Bramble is wanted by Aston Villa according to the Daily Mirror who say that the Midlands club are set to make a player plus cash offer.

Bramble has been a revelation during his time at the Latics and the fee mentioned in the Mirror, £3.5 million, isn`t only laughable but also insulting. Barry Brannan is reportedly the make weight in the deal.

Brannan is a 19 year old Scottish midfield man and spent part of last season on loan at Derby County where he impressed Rams boss Nigel Clough, but we have enough midfield players at the Latics.

Hopefully this is just paper talk and Bramble will be going nowhere, we will need his presence in the heart of defence this season as Martinez will want a rock to build his new look Latics around and just last month there was talk of Bramble being made club captain.

Sorry Villa, Titus is going nowhere

he always looks highly average to me, have I missed something, has he improved since being at Wigan?

he had a good season along with Figeroua last year, one season though, other than that he's made more calamity mistakes than david james!

Wigan turned him into a much better player than he was at newcastle.

This is by far the most depressing link of the summer so far. I just give up...

Don't forget, with Man City looking for top 4, Villa will be lucky to finish 6th, with Everton 7th.

Villa rule out move for Bramble Villa have dismissed speculation they are lining up a move for Wigan defender Titus Bramble. Morning reports claimed the club were prepared to pay £3.5million, plus midfield starlet Barry Bannan, to land the centre-back. But club sources have confirmed Bramble is not on manager Martin O’Neill’s transfer hit-list

Dan's Big Game Report - Burton 0 Latics 2

Alright, so despite the hammyteur Twitter meteorologists' predictions, it never did snow in Burton upon Trent today.

But on Friday morning, the Met Office (presumably a wild new joint venture of the Metro newspaper and the Post Office) issued 'yellow warnings' of ice in Staffordshire. From this we can only assume that the county`s dog walkers embarked upon an unprecedented mass figure skating session producing gold medals you certainly don't want in your hands.

Oh, disregard
