'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cockney Latic Hit As Rivals Fold

New Media Image report that Sky have pulled the plug on their rivals.net football community websites leaving thousands of fans stunned as they couldn`t gain access to what has become their first port of call on the internet.

Included in this cull was the Wigan Athletic fan site the popular Cockney Latic which was one of if not the first Latics fans sites on the net and they certainly set the path for others to follow.

The closure came without warning and visitors to the rivals network were met with the message 'Rivals.net is currently unavailable`, a bit of an understatement.

New Media Image report that they have spoken to a Sky Spokesperson regarding the closure and he says that it was a purely financial decision, he said: "Sky is constantly reviewing the performance of its properties and unfortunately Rivals.net wasn`t performing as well as we`d hoped. Therefore, the decision was made to close it."

Cockney Latic has found itself a temporary home and lets hope that it can grow strong once more after all we are one big community.
