Gomez Says Latics Are On The Up

Wigan Athletic new signing Jordi Gomez says he believes that the club can improve on last seasons mid-table finish and he is delighted to be a part of what boss Roberto Martinez is doing.

Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post, Gomez said that when he was asked to sign for the Latics he said 'yes` without hesitation and he was looking forward to a very good season ahead, he told the WEP:'I think Wigan is a great club and I am sure we will have a very good season ahead of us.

'The team has been in the Premier League for four years now, and last season they finished comfortably in mid-table.

'I definitely think the team can improve on that this year.'

'Last season was a very good for me with Roberto and his staff, and I hope this season will be the same,' he added.

'I am going to work as hard as possible, which will hopefully help me to adjust to the Premier League. From the first moment Roberto told me he wanted at this club, I said 'yes' immediately. I like the way Roberto works and the way his teams play. I am very happy to be a part
of it.'
