'If It's Football, It's Vital'
Martinez Close to More Signings
Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is close to making more additions to the Latics squad with two definite and possibly up to four new faces set to join in the coming week.
With Jordi Gomez, Hendry Thomas and Jason Scotland (subject to work permit) already on board the Latics boss is keen to add what he calls 'quality` to the team and is working hard to bring in more new signings with Raul Tamudo, Albert Crusat, Johnny Palacios and Mohammed Diame all touted as possible new recruits.
Martinez himself has said that a wide player is a priority and the club made a 'substantial` bid to Marseille for attacking wide man Mathieu Valbuena last weekend but the players agent suggested that the man nicknamed 'the small bike` wants to sign for a club that is playing European football and with Liverpool linked to Valbuena the Latics might be pushed to get this deal done.
