Wigan Athletic defenders Titus Bramble and Emerson Boyce have both shown faith in new boss Roberto Martinez by signing new three year contracts with the club.
With Wolves sniffing around Boyce and Aston Villa making enquiries about Bramble this is welcome news and shows that those inside the club have faith in where Martinez is intending to take the team with his new ideas.
Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post Bramble re-affirmed his commitment to the Latics and said its where he wants to be, Bramble said: 'This is where I want to be, and I'm very happy to be signing a new contract and staying here. I'm very happy"
Boyce has been having contract talks for almost a year now and he says he`s relieved it`s all been sorted: 'It's been going on since last summer, and it's been a bit frustrating for me.
'To start with the two sides were quite a way apart in terms of reaching an agreement, but it all been sorted out.
'Now I then have to prove to the manager that he was right in keeping me at the club.
'The contract will take me to my early 30s, and it's a very important contract for me - which is probably why it's taken so long to get it done.
'It had to be right for me, and obviously it also had to be right for the club."
Like Bramble, Boyce always wanted to stay at the Latics and he says: 'The main thing was signing a new deal here because this is where I want to be.
'I wanted to have a good break over the summer, come back refreshed and sort this deal out.
'You try to let others sort it out but obviously it does play on your mind, because when you have a family you have to be thinking about where you are going to be in the future.
'We all want security, but my family is settled here, I'm happy at Wigan and hopefully I just concentrate on the new season.'
Nice one boys, now lets get a forward and winger in![]()
