'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Triallist shines in friendly defeat.

19 year old Obeng, who was recently released by Manchester City played the first half as a right back and looked to be a very useful prospect.

Obeng who was an England youth international and has also had trials with Glasgow Celtic, took his opportuntiy well last night and must have impressed watching manager Roberto Martinez.

With the current right backs being Melchiot and Boyce, the potential signing of Obeng would provide a much needed back up, if his obvious potential can be developed.

He was touted as one of the best prospects to come out of the City academy and beat the rest of the squad in cluding Ricahrds and Onuoha and Robinho in 100m speed tests! I think he would be a good signing and you can't learn from a better RB than Melchiot.

do it. shouldn't exactly be a hard sell to bring him in

Most of us at City can't understand why he was let go. Good luck to the lad, you could have a very good player on your hands if you sign him
