Latics braced for Cattermole bid

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has so far managed to rebuff bids of around four and five million from Sunderland, for the Latics dynamo but it is believed that Arsenal are beleived to be preparing to test Martinez's resolve, by offering up to ten million pounds for the under 21 international.

Cattermole is reported to be happy at Wigan but the lure of the Champions League may prove too tempting.

Wouldnt be the way to go for Catt. He wouldnt be a starter at Arsenal and he needs a few seasons at Wigan to get up to the level Valencia was at.

Te report says 10 mil for Catts, 7 for Kalou and 15 mil for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, thats 32 million total...Arsenal dont usually spend that sort of cash....lets hope they get the first two and forget about Suoer Lee

I personally hope this is true, and I say that without any intention of disrespecting your club. Lee is one of the most underrated players in world football, he does his job quietly with minimal energy and maximum efficiency. He will bring much needed grit and balance to the Arsenal midfield, and I hope that this rumour becomes reality.

slightly worried about this one to be honest. if u think about it super lee certainly fits arsenals buying policy of signing young players and cattermole has already proved he has exceptional ability both at prem level and international (all be it at under 21 level) i really hope we dont let him go for 10 mil because in 2 or 3 seasons he has the potential to be worth at least double that

Cattermole to Arsenal does sound slightly ridiculous.

I responded to the afore said article...I think the Mail has a vendetta against all things with Latics, they slated Michael Brown in a similar fashion amd there so called top sports reporter Patrick Collins attacked Dave Whelan for naming the stadium after himself...DW Stadium...without mentioning that it was his new business venture, at least tell ALL the facts

The Mail and the Mirror have weird Laticaxes to grind against us for whatever reason. The Mirror especially.

Heard this morning on Sky sports. Nothing less than 10m so say Latics. I hope its not true though. With all the money brought in from sale of players I would like to know what they intend doing with this big pot of dosh. Anyway fingers crossed he stays. Cant really say more than that.

The money goes to player wages and running the team along with transfers.
