'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wigan Athletic Signings Imminent

Word coming out of the DW Stadium is that the Latics are about to make three more signings before the seasons opener against Aston Villa on Saturday 15th August.

It is expected that Crystal Palace youngster Victor Moses will be the first in before the end of this week and two more to follow next week with the Manchester Evening News hinting that they will be from Spain.

Meanwhile Martinez is getting impatient with former boss Steve Bruce trying to unsettle Lee Cattermole, diplomatically Martinez said: 'Lee had a tremendous campaign last season and it's about taking it on to the next level and carrying on those high standards.

'We're going to make sure that Lee knows how important he is to Wigan and we want him to carry on enjoying his football here.'

Privately it is understood that both Martinez and Whelan are infuriated with Bruce`s refusal to accept there will be no deal struck with Sunderland for Cattermole and the club is currently considering reporting their former boss to the Premier League
