N`Zogbia Has The Right Attitude

N`Zogbia Has The Right Attitude

One of Roberto Martinez` first jobs has Wigan Athletic manager was to find a replacement for Antonio Valencia who left for Manchester United just as the new gaffer was arriving at the Latics.

There has been lots of press speculation to whom Martinez may be bringing in, Albert Crusat of Almeria, Mark Gonzalez the ex-Liverpool player currently at Spanish club Real Betis even ex-manager Steve Bruces former target Jermaine Pennant was mentioned, but it appears that the answer to this particular puzzle may already lie within the club.

Record signing Charles N`Zogbia joined the Latics in January as a left sided attacking midfield player; he played there for Newcastle United his previous club, as well as left back, and he starred on the left of the Latics midfield during the second half of last season, scoring a sensational solo goal at Sunderland, but during the current pre-season little Charlie has featured heavily on the right side of the midfield.

Martinez has been extremely impressed with the little Frenchman and last week at Preston and then Norwich he was superb and scored a cracking goal in each of the games.

Speaking about Zog playing wide right Martinez say`s that he is adding another string to his bow and learning the new position will make him a more valuable team member, Martinez said: 'Charles looks dangerous every time he gets the ball at the moment'

'There are a couple of positions he knows inside out, but this position is a little different for him.

'But you can see he is quickly mastering it. Charles can play in numerous positions to suit the needs of the team and the game.

'He has had a very good pre-season, and he is going to get sharper and even stronger.

'That is important - to have as many dimensions as you can possibly have in your play.

'And he and the rest of the players have been working very hard to set their own standards.'

If Zog is going to play wide right, who will play wide left?

either Rachid Bouazan or de ridder or kapo do you not watch pre season games ? or read other websites to see how good some of the games av been played ? Bouazan - never had a chance looks awesome in pre season De ridder - decent, only young, needs more game time Kapo - Never been short of ability, one of most talented players in sqaud was just lazy, uncommited and really couldn't be arsed last year, but hes a transformed man under martinez looked good until he got injured. but i think he can shine. theres also koumas but he as been excellant along with gomez at AMC so i think them two will battle it out for that place

Yep I have been to preseason games and do read other websites but still dont think that DeRidder, Bouaouzan, Kapo or Koumas are the answer....DeRidder looked awesome last July at Barnsley then he was awful in the Prem...thats the problem, quality of opposition

i think bouazan will be good tbh, id keep de ridder aswell tbh as a sqaud player and i think kapo would feature more as a second striker when played. so out of the options i would play bouazan. but ive said before many times that i would rather keep everyone we have now except marlon king so we have good depth in the team for once, id like to see two more strikers, and either a centre back or a right back ..

Defo keep 'em, we need a good squad, even King, but I think that something is a miss with him and the club, he looked commited in training yesterday but today the word is he could be off to Cardiff in some swap deal
