Sinclair Show`s England Ambition

Wigan Athletics latest acquisition, Scott Sinclair, who signed on a season long loan from Premier League rivals Chelsea says that he has hopes of forcing his way into the England squad ahead of next years World Cup finals.

With the prospect of regular Premier League football the young prodigy jumped at the chance to join the Latics and he is excited about the new season and playing under new boss Roberto Martinez, Sinclair said: 'With it being a loan deal I obviously want people back at Chelsea to see me do well, but I'm really happy that I get to do that at a great club like Wigan"

'Hopefully if I do play every week I can prove I'm good enough for England.'

Sinclair has been given Antonio Valencia`s old squad number 16 and it is without doubt that he will be compared to the Latics former wingman who left for Manchester United at the start of summer, but Sinclair says that it isn`t fair to draw comparisons with Valencia a seasoned Premier League player, he continued: 'I can't compare myself with Valencia yet because he's played in the Premier League for a while and I'm just young and still learning the game'

'When I was younger I was predominantly a striker, but as I've progressed I've adapted my play to be able to move out onto the wing as well, mainly out on the left, which is now probably where I prefer to play.

'It's up to the manager where I fill in and wherever he wants me to play I'm happy to do so.'

Think he needs to sort out his club form first before talking about England!
