Bruce Offers £10 million For Cattermole

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Sunderland boss Steve Bruce submitted a £10 million bid for Wigan Athletic midfield star Lee Cattermole late last night.

Cattermole who is away with the England Under 21`s in Holland and played just over 70 minutes in the 0-0 draw with the Dutch in last nights game at Groningen, is understood to want to speak to Sunderland.

With a £10 million offer on the table and manager Roberto Martinez speaking about how Cattermole has been unsettled with all the talk of him moving on the 'not for sale` sign looks like it will be replaced by a sold sign.

Sunderland have almost bullied this deal through and Bruce has been relentless in the media with his pursuit of Cattermole, but there are other clubs interested and have asked the Latics to keep them informed, most notably Liverpool, so don`t be surprised if the sell figure has been reached to see at least one more club challenging for young midfield mans signature.

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
