Hopes and Fears, Fans Thoughts #3

The third edition of the fans `Hopes and Fears` sees Wigan Athletic supporter Danny Latham, better known on Vital Latics as lathamwafc giving his thoughts on the coming season now that summer is drawing to a close, over to you lathamwafc:

Hopes
That the team Gel and the defence gets sorted out, Bramble was a rock last season but in the St. Mirren game he looked no more than a bit of gravel.

Fears
Relegation, if we are getting hit on the Break against teams like Norwich how badly will we do against Man u, Chelsea etc. Its okay to play 'Sexy Football' if you cant stop them from scoring.

Key Player
Jordi Gomez, He looks a class act, skillfull, quick and we know he can score goals from his Swansea days, he looks like he could be that spark our attacks so desperatly need.

Predictions
Premier League - 10th
Carling Cup - Final win
FA Cup - 5th round

Player of the year - Jordi Gomez or Chris Kirkland

Flop of the year - Lee Cattermole or Titus Bramble

Convict of the year - Should be Gerrard but he plays for Liverpool so it will have to be Marlon King

Well there you go a trophy in the cabinet, a top ten finish and our two best players flops of the season.

Thanks for reading

A cup win at Wembley would be awesome and I agree with one of your flops, Cattermole will fall on his backside at Sunderland

Just 3 Points For Wigan Athletic To Play For (01/05/16)

The Latics have only 3 points left to play for in this year's battle for League One promotion.

Gary Caldwell's Blackpool Reflections

A very proud Gary Caldwell spoke to the media after the game, let's take a look at what he had to say:

Dan's Big Game Report - Blackpool 0 Latics 4

As you read this message in the year 2036, much of Blackpool vs. Wigan '16 has passed into the annals of Latics lore. Scarcely has a single game of kickball received quite as much build-up - from the minute this fixture was announced to the moment match ref Stuart Attwell finally tootled on his tin whistle, talk of Bloomfield Road on 30 April was incessant.

And I expect it's been much the same since, with (admittedly failed) film scripts written and (admittedly shoddy) statues
