Latics Speyk to Wolves

Vital Latics welcomes our friends from just down the M6, well 95 miles, Wolverhampton Wanderers up to the DW stadium for Tuesday`s Premier League game between the Latics and Wolves and we manage to grab a few words with Wolves fan and Vital Wolves editor Akela, lets see how that went:

How you doing Akela and are you looking forward to the season?

Of course, back in the Premier League where this club belongs. Obviously a shame we lost our opening game but how could you not look forward to Manchester United and Chelsea over Scunthorpe and Peterbrough?

How was you opening game, has it left you a little disheartened or were there encouraging signs?

A little disheartened, the anticipation of being back in the Premier League probably meant I was a little too optimistic ahead of the new season! Reality back now and we know it will be difficult.

Ebanks-Blake has impressed me from what I have seen; do you feel he has what it takes to score enough goals at this level?

Certainly, if fit and firing he will get 20+ goals this season and an England cap before the World Cup.

If you were to recommend to Roberto Martinez one player from your squad who would it be and why?

I think you have already picked him out: Ebanks-Blake.

If you were to recommend to Mick McCarthy on player from our squad who would it be and why?

For some reason I quite like Scharner. No nonsense and can play in a number of positions which would be useful to us.

Where do you see Wolves finishing this season?

I think we will avoid the drop, but it is likely to go down to the final day of the season.

So go on then what`s your prediction for Tuesday?

I think we'll get a 1-1.

Well Akela you might be disappointed come 10 pm Tuesday then though I do fancy you to be the surprise package this year and once you settle down to Premier League life I think you`ll be in for a good season, have a safe journey both up and back down the M6 and here`s hoping, apart from the result you all enjoy yourselves.

Nice speaking to you Akela, good luck for the rest of the season

Good to chat Akela, I do like Ebanks-Blake and if he does score 20+ this season he wont be a Wolves player next...thats the problem
worbo
Oh he will be, unless we decide to cash in.
Akela
Really? Its a chance you won't cash in??? With Dave Whelan you dont even consider it.
