New Sponsor

New Sponsor

Wigan Athletic could get a new shirt sponsor in the near future. Commercial manager John Fillingham, speaking after the AGM, said that there had been 3 serious enquiries from companies in the last year and that the most likely sponsor would be an internet gaming company such as Mansion who recently lost out in the battle to sponsor Manchester United.

The present arrangement of the 3 saleable rights of Stadium naming, shirt sponsorship and kit suppliers all being sold to JJB is probably not getting us the best possible deal.

The main problem is the timing of the move, as the kit suppliers would require notice around Christmas for a change in the shirt , and we would have to be assured of Premiership football to attract a new sponsor for the next season.

A fine thought vertigo, like giving money to yourself? The only problem is, is that you only get your own money to spend (follow me). With an outside sponsor you get their money to spend. Does that make sense?
