Latics Players Star For Honduras

Wigan Athletic players Hendry Thomas and Maynor Figueroa had good games for Honduras in the World Cup qualifying match against Trinidad and Tobago and the catrachos ran out 4-1 winner to go top of their group with just three games remaining, Jason Scotland was an unused sub for Trinidad and Tobago

Carlos Pavon scored for Honduras in the 19th and 27th minutes, Amado Guevara in the 61st and David Suazo in the 82nd minutes, while Kerry Baptiste scored five minutes from time for Trinidad and Tobago.

Honduras now sit proudly at the top of the group and face Mexico on Wednesday, a win and qualification would be almost guaranteed with the top three in the group qualifying automatically and the fourth placed going into a play-off against South American opposition.
