Wigan Athletic - M`Bami Looks Set To Come In

Following proposed moves to Portsmouth, Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers this summer, Cameroon international Modeste M`Bami looks set to finally get a move to the Premier League with Wigan Athletic following an impressive trial last week.

M`Bami`s agent Willie McKay has been negotiating on his behalf and if agreement can be reached on length of contact and wages then the former PSG and Marseille midfield man should be a Latic before the end of the week in time for the West Ham game.

Cameroon are set to play Gabon in a return fixture on Wednesday in a World Cup qualifier that could decide their fate as they are in a very tight group with Gabon leading and Cameroon back in 3rd place and two points behind so victory is essential to get the Lions roaring to qualification.

M`Bami though will more than likely miss the game; he didn`t feature in Cameroons 2-0 win in Gabon at the weekend and there is no news if he is included in the squad for the match.

At 5` 7" the 26 year old isn`t the biggest player around but he is a feisty midfield terrier and would certainly compliment the Latics midfield and having played over 225 games in the French First Division for Sedan, PSG and Marseille he is experienced at the highest level and would bring some extra quality to the team.

Speaking about M'Bami Latics boss Roberto Martinez says: "Modeste has a great pedigree and a great curriculum with top teams around the continent"

"He can control the tempo of the game with his ability and experience. He has a sharp brain, can see a pass quickly and can operate in a few positions around the midfield area. We'll be assessing him over the next week and see what happens."

Would be a good signing but we needed a forward

I'm not convinced...if he's that good why didn't Pompey, Bolton or Blackburn pick him up?
Sheikh_Mahand
Sounds like another no name player coming in.

He has been playing in the French top flight with some pretty good sides, seems a decent addition. As Worbo said, would rather have a striker in.

I've signed up Bobby to - Midfielders Anonymous. He has an addiction, and he knows it. I guess we will be seeing an official press release in the days to follow. Bobby has a void that he is trying to fill with an compulsively buying midfielders. Hopefully, he will get back on track and address the real void eating him away...UP FRONT!

i tell you why pompey didnt pick him up, because we are retards!!! Al-Fahim would give Hart any money to sign him
