Martinez Tips England To Qualify

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez says he fully expects England to gain the victory to clinch World Cup qualification when Fabio Capello`s men take on Croatia in tonights game at Wembley.

Martinez also says that he is impressed with Capello and how he has turned England from a one trick pony into a squad of players that have a chance of achieving in next years finals in South Africa, the Latics boss said: 'I will be watching, and I fully expect England to qualify for the World Cup tonight.

'I also think they will be a big threat next summer, because they have an extra dimension to their play now.

'You don't see England as a one-trick pony anymore, and Fabio Capello's knowledge is getting the very best out of the players England have.

'He has brought about a different way of playing, despite having a similar core of players to the previous manager. You are looking at the energy and pressure they put into the last third, and they really start to play from the front.

'There are many different aspects that make up wider options, and that means England can adapt to playing against Croatia or playing against any other team - and that is a great strength.

'You are now starting to see different partnerships, different ways of playing, different combinations - and that is exciting for English football. With the different variety of players they have now, they have to be a big threat to win the World Cup next year.'
