What The Boss Said - Latics Vs West Ham

Following yesterdays game between Wigan Athletic and West Ham United at the DW Stadium, both bosses, Roberto Martinez and Gianfranco Zola spoke to the press, lets see what they had to say:

Latics boss Roberto Martinez:

'It was a moment that we had to look behind the result and the performance has been really good'

'But the win is what the players deserved, especially after our last game.

'In football if you carry on doing the right things sometimes you get the rewards and I'm so delighted for the players and the fans, they played a big role today.'

'But the passion and the determination of both sides to get the three points was something that is great to see in any football game'

'So in that respect, I'm delighted that we can find the answers that were needed today to try to get the three points.

'And in the longer term, to carry on growing, carry on working hard.'

West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola
'Obviously in the second half I was expecting a different result because it had been quite a balanced game.

'But in the second half, it is not the first time that we have started in a sloppy way and I don't like that.

'It is something that we are going to be discussing next week.'
