Andy Liddells Big Great North Run This Sunday

Wigan Athletic legend Andy Liddell takes part in the Great North Run this weekend and he is desperate to make a big impact for a charity that means so much to him and his family following the heartbreak of losing a child recently.

Andy`s daughter Giorgina was born with a condition called gastroschisis but she had suffered complications before being born which could not be detected, unfortunately there was nothing that could been done so Andy and his wife Charlotte decided to spend the precious time they had together with Giorgina at Martin House Children`s Hospice.

Andy say`s they spent 11 wonderful days at Martin House and the staff, who couldn`t do enough for them, made their time together with Giorgina special and he will be forever in their debt.

Andy is mow determined to do as much as possible to raise money for and awareness in Martin House Children`s Hospice and he is starting off by competing in the Great North Run and would like people to make donations to help Martin House care for other families who go through the trauma of caring for and losing a child, you can visit Andy`s web page by clicking the link below and also make a donation from there

Andy was a cult hero at Wigan, he is still the clubs all time league goal scorer and all though there was interest from clubs in a higher league status at that time he remained loyal to the Latics until he was allowed to leave for Sheffield United

Andy also played for Barnsley, Oldham Athletic and is currently at Rotherham United
