M`Bami and Macho Get Another Chance

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez revealed that he is going to give trialist pair Modeste M`Bami and Jurgen Macho another chance to prove their worth when the Latics reserves take on Blackburn reserves next week

The Cameroon midfield man and the giant Austrian keeper both played in Tuesdays 4-3 defeat against Manchester City reserves at Robin Park and though they didn`t look out of place they didn`t stand out either.

M`Bami is clearly not fit, he`s been injured throughout the summer and has only just started back training but he does have a good touch and can pick a pass he also comes with a good pedigree having gained Champions League experience with Marseille and he is a full international and star of the Cameroon side.

Macho, though he conceded four goals on Tuesday wasn`t at fault with any and he will be desperate to show what he can do. Latics already have three keepers but Kirkland is struggling with his back once more, Pollitt is showing signs of his age and Kingson simply isn`t Premier League standard so a good quality addition would only be beneficial for the Latics.

Speaking to Sky Sports boss Roberto Martinez said on the pair: 'At the moment, we'll assess it further down the line'

'I'm not going to make any decisions yet, I think it's too early and I will probably take advantage of the second game they can play in the reserves.'
