Macho Goes Home

Jurgen Macho has left Wigan Athletic after a week long trial and headed back to his homeland, Austria, after failing to impress Latics boss Roberto Martinez sufficiently enough to win a contract.

The 6`4" shot stopper played in last weeks reserve team game against Manchester City and though he wasn`t at fault with the four goals he conceded he didn`t exactly excel either, Martinez says: 'Jurgen has gone back to Austria.

'He wanted to have a look at us and we wanted to have a look at him.

'But we have three good goalkeepers at the club, and we're not going to take things any further.'
