Filan Out

Wigan Athletic's Australian goalkeeper John Filan will miss the rest of the season after undergoing a hernia operation. He will miss the Portsmouth and Arsenal games but should be back in time for pre-season training.

Mike Pollitt will continue in goal with coach Gary Walsh, being the only other senior goalkeeper available, on the bench if fit.

Crikey !! Leaves you a bit short should anything happen to the keeper.

theres always the emergency signing thing that you get if all your keepers become injured, but youve only got two matches to go any way, youll be fine

Plus if Wigan lose to Pompey, Brummie Brucie will blame someone or something anyway, so it may as well be a 2nd string goalkeeper. Congrats to Wigan, youve done exceptional this season and shut all the footy pundits up. As a Pompey fan i hope you lose on Saturday, but im behind you to beat Arsenal on the last day and upset there season too. All the best

" its a shame hes injured but i feel pollit is a more competent keeper."

If Pompey stay up who cares what Bruce says. He is probably thinking of his own skin anyway. Bruce the Goose I say.

Goosey gander going down? To be fair, he was quite magnanimous once the result was known.
