Wigan Athletic player Ben Watson who is currently on loan at Queens Park Rangers put the West London club in front last night as they took on Newcastle United at St. James` Park in a Championship fixture that saw the Geordies open up a 3 point gap at the top of the table
The game finished 1-1 when another player on loan, Marlon Harewood came on to score the equaliser for Newcastle with 20 minutes remaining.
Watson is on loan at QPR until January to get some first team action, but before he went he stressed that he wasn`t seeking a permanent move away from the Latics and he sees his long term future at the DW Stadium.
The combative midfield player has a knack of scoring goals and he is an excellent squad member for Martinez to bring back into the club once his loan period is over
