Wigan Athletic - M`Bami Deal Scuppered By Cash

Wigan Athletics failure to clinch the signing of Cameroon international and former Marseille midfield man Modeste M`Bami appears to be down to the cash on the table or, according to the player a lack of it.

The defensive midfield man says that there were a few issues that stopped him signing and that he now fancies the sunshine of Spain as he is ready to put pen to paper on a one year deal at La Liga club Almeria and they are willing to meet his wage demands.

M`Bami says: 'There were a few issues which prevented a deal being closed with Wigan, with money being the main problem.'

'I am very interested in the Primera Liga because it is one of the best leagues in the world'

I am pleased we didn`t sign M`Bami, we have a better player, in my opinion, currently out on loan at QPR in Ben Watson and obviously the management team at the Latics didn`t think too highly of him either or they`d have offered him the cash.
