Wigan Athletic fan and Vital Latics member centrelink1 takes a look at the form of the Latics and Hull City ahead of their clash at the KC today, over to you centrelink1:
Wigan Athletic had arguably the best win of the round last week while Hull City in contrast had the biggest defeat.
A look at the Four-Four-Two "Monday marks" shows the two team`s ratings from last week.
In 1st place...
Wigan 9 (beat Chelsea 3-1)
At the 35th time of asking, the Latics finally put one of the 'big four' to the sword. Having already seen off West Ham and Aston Villa this season, Roberto Martinez' side certainly don't look likely to struggle - as so many predicted over the summer. Goal scorer Titus Bramble may even be starting to catch the eye of a certain Mr Capello...
In Last place...
Hull 3 (lost 6-1 at Liverpool)
Torres was inspired, but it only took him four shots to bag his hat-trick. Brown desperately needs a home win against Wigan next Saturday before the international break presents a tempting window to shop for a new boss.
However, with Phil Brown fighting for his job and Hull City fighting for their lives against relegation, the Latics task may be harder than we think. Hull City will certainly have an inspired performance, but will it be enough?
Players to watch
Wigan Athletic: Paul Scharner
Many fans doubted his abilities as a midfielder but he has certainly shown he can play a useful attacking role. Has a good header and found his way onto the score sheet for the second time this season, scoring the sealer against Chelsea. One of Wigan`s many goal scoring options.
Hull City: Jan Venegoor Of Hesselink
Still looking for his first goal for the Tigers, hopefully he won`t find it against us.
Prediction
Head says : 2-1 Wigan
Heart says : 9-0 Wigan (Hat tricks for Scotland and Rodders, goals to Scharner, Zog and late sub Sinclair)
