Bolivia Star Samuel Galindo Set For The Latics

Wigan Athletic are in talks to sign 17 year old Bolivia sensation Samuel Galindo from Real America beating off a host of challenges from top European clubs including Fiorentina and Spartak Moscow according to the Daily Mirror.

Officials at Real America confirmed that Galindo is set to fly to the UK for talks early next week and that the Latics want to get the deal sorted as soon as possible so that the midfield player can become acclimatised to the UK before the next transfer window officially opens in January.

Galindo is the captain of Bolivia`s Under 20`s side and he is currently training with the senior side ahead of their World Cup qualifiers, a fee of just short of 1 million is being banded about and the Latics would need special dispensation for the player to obtain a work permit due to him not being a full international.

It is understood that the player himself is keen to come to the Latics and the clubs standing in Central and South America has helped sway this, the Latics have a strong Latin influence at the club with a Spanish born manager in Roberto Martinez and several Hispanic players in the current squad.
