Olivier Kapo Happy Now That Bruce Has Gone

Wigan Athletic's forgotten man, France international Olivier Kapo has poured cold water on any rumour suggesting that he is looking to get out of the DW Stadium.

Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post the former Juventus player says that he is very happy at the Latics and that is where he wants to stay, why? Well he says it`s because Steve Bruce has left the club.

Kapo reveals that he had major problems with former boss Steve Bruce last season but now that Bruce has left and gone to Sunderland Kapo sees his future firmly at the Latics

The attacking midfield man suffered a knee ligament injury during pre-season and fully recovered with two reserve games under his belt Kapo is chomping at the bit to be given a chance to prove his worth to new boss Roberto Martinez.

Kapo told the Post: 'It seems that every summer I am linked with another club, particularly in France, but the truth is that I want to be here at Wigan, where I'm happy'

'Last season was very difficult for me, because I had problems with Steve Bruce. I don't have that now.

'I know the Premier League and, although the last year has been difficult, the bottom line is that I want to play.

'If the team don't want me that's another question, but personally I want to play for Wigan Athletic, no one else.

'I have a three-year contract. I like Wigan. It's where I want to be. I want to stay.'

A happy and dedicated Kapo would be like having a new player at the club, he is definitely talented and would slot into the attacking midfield role quite comfortably
