Lawro Predicts - Latics Vs Man City

Lawro Predicts - Latics Vs Man City

Wigan Athletic take on Manchester City at The DW Stadium on Sunday and BBC pundit the ex-Liverpool defender Mark 'Lawro` Lawrenson has done his usual weekly forecast for the beeb and he predicts that the Latics will get a win against City even though the big spenders have broken into the top four, let`s see what his reasons are:

Wigan v Man City

Man City have a really poor record at Wigan, I believe, but they've never quite had this quality of squad have they?

But City have had so many players on international duty in South America and Africa in the last couple of weeks, I think the sheer extent of the travelling might have an effect on some of them.

That's why I'm going for a Wigan win. Roberto Martinez will want the same result as when they beat Chelsea at home, and with Hendry Thomas and Mohamed Diame patrolling the midfield, they might pull it off.

Verdict: 2-1

Well Lawro I totally agree with you I also predict a 2-1 win for the Latics…great minds and all that

Could be a good time to play us, as our entire first choice defense is struggling to be fit. Still think we'll outscore you though! 3-2 City. Cheers uskok, feeling the love mate (and not really bothered).

Gillingham 1-1 Wigan Match Report

Being top of the league didn't last long, did it? We'll leave that talk until May from now on. We drew 1-1 with a well-drilled Gillingham side.

Paul Cook made one change to the side that beat Southend United 3-0 on Saturday. Ivan Toney returned to the starting line-up, replacing Will Grigg.

It was an open first 20 minutes, which saw both sides miss good opportunities. Gavin Massey, Nathan Byrne and Dan Burn all had chances to open the scoring, while Sean Clare came close with a vol
