Ex-Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Bradford City, Leicester City, Aston Villa etc, etc player Stan Collymore is delivering more drivel as a columnist for the Daily Mirror than he ever did, and he did, as a player.
His latest piece, How to Make The Premier League Great Again, talks about scrapping promotion and relegation and getting rid of clubs such as the Latics, Hull City, Stoke City, Bolton Wanderers and replacing them with the likes of Leeds United and Newcastle United so that we can compete with La Liga and Serie A
Now I thought that the Premier League is the worlds best league, I`d use the Champions League as gauge to test the strength of this and just see how well our clubs have done over the past four years or so, but not Stan, no he uses the drain of top talent leaving our shores like a flushing toilet and heading for Europes top clubs.
Drain, flush? Well he cites Ronaldo and Alonso and that`s it, two players who have both gone to live a dream by signing for their boyhood clubs.
So by losing two players from the Premier League we need to chuck out clubs like the Latics, I`d say get real moron, by making a closed shop you`d kill football in this country, the competition is the key to the success, we have four strong sides competing in Europe each year, our sides are full of the worlds top players coached by the worlds top coaches.
The only change I`d make for the good of the game would be to get the country`s most wooden pundit away from the media, get rid of Collymore, and whilst I`m at it Stan don`t use any more of my articles in your name, plagiarism is a very serious matter. Bubble burst indeed.
