Wigan Athletic - Tamudo Deal Back On

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez will meet with Tomas Duran, the agent of Espanyol striker Raul Tamudo next week in order to thrash out a deal to bring in the Spanish international as a replacement for Marlon King who was jailed for ABH and subsequently sacked by the Dave Whelan this week.

Wigan and Espanyol were in contact over the player in the summer, the Latics had agreed a fee with the Spanish club but could not agree terms with the player despite lengthy negotiations; Tamudo who is 32 was seeking a four year deal and the Latics were simply not prepared to meet those demands.

Now with his contract due to expire in June and finding himself forced out of the Espanyol side where he has been a legend for the past 15 years Tamudo may be willing to compromise in order to get a move to the Premier League and join up with the Martinez revolution.
