Erik Edman Expected Back In Side

Wigan Athletic left back Erik Edman could be starting a league match for the Latics on Sunday for the first time since January 2008 when he damaged his knee ligaments in a game against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

The classy former Spurs player would have been in the first eleven last week at Portsmouth but he hasn`t trained since taking a nasty bang to the head in a reserve game almost four weeks ago and suffering from severe concussion.

Now with the all clear from the doc`s and back in training Edman is raring to pick up the mantle following a knee injury to Maynor Figueroa which as left the Latics fumbling around for stop gaps and last week they played attacking midfield man Charles N`Zogbia at left back and it simply didn`t work.

Edman will bring a touch of class and culture to the Latics defence and it will be good to see the Sweden international make a return to first team action at the DW Stadium

Fans Forum Ticket Competition
