Well its been well over 24 hours and I have not received a response nor even an acknowledgement of my complaint to the BBC for their derogatory opening and then constant crowd jibes during the highlights of the Latics Fulham game on MotD 2 on Sunday.
So what else is there to do?
Send in another complaint to be ignored once more, or take some drastic action?
It does appear that not just Latics fans were offended by the piece, we have had supporters from 'other` clubs coming on Vital saying that they were disgusted by the BBC`s continual degrading of the North of the country and continual support of the so called big clubs, and they too have registered a complaint.
Wigan Athletic themselves are mighty aggrieved and one correspondence I received from the club tells me they are going to be bashing some heads at the BBC, the Latics released an official club statement `To Latics Fans`, they say they are proud of the progress that the club is making and thank all the fans for their support, the statement was very diplomatic.
Fans sites like ourselves at Vital have voiced their dismay and annoyance and also made complaints Jesus was a Wiganer, Ye Old Tree and Crown and Wiganer.net have shown through articles that they, like us at Vital will not take this lying down.
So what do we do if no replies are coming forward, if nothing is happening, if the Match of the Day production team is finding our little rant quite amusing? Well I for one wont be watching their shoddy show again, that`s for sure and maybe that`s how the point will get across, if football supporters boycott Match of the Day then perhaps the big bosses at the beeb may ask questions as to why viewing figures are slumping.
There is a poll on the right side of this page, asking quite simply should we boycott Match of the Day, yes or no, I would like to gauge the feelings of supporters on this step so please would you take a few seconds to register your vote, just select your option and then hit the submit button its that easy, I will run the poll for the rest of the week and if no response from the BBC to any of the fans complaints then the next course of action will be decided upon.
Fans Forum Ticket Competition
Vital Latics have two tickets on offer for the up and coming Wigan Athletic fans forum to be held at the DW Stadium in the DW Fitness Lounge located in the South Stand on Tuesday 17th November 7pm kick-off.
