Wigan Athletic - 2000 Memories - Latixfan

With the Latics hitting 2000 points with the draw against Fulham last week here at Vital we wanted to know your best memories of games from this haul, we have already had one, mine, now it`s the turn of Chris Stewart, better known as Latixfan, over to you Chris:

My favourite memory of a league game as to be the 3-1 win over Reading that grabbed us promotion to the Premier League.

I have been a Latics fan for many, many years and I have seen the tough and the rough times, at one point during the 1980`s I thought we were going to go bust so to have a chance of getting in the Premiership was a fantastic occasion.

The game itself went by like a blur, we were in front in no time at all when Lee McCulloch put the ball in the net, that was it, from that goal we were always going to win the match, we just wanted it too much.

It was only fitting that both Jason Roberts and Nathan Ellington scored in that game after the fantastic season that they`d had with us, as I say the game was a blur but the after match party we had is even more of a blur
