'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Latics Linked to Wales Footballer of the Year

Wigan Athletic are being linked with a January move for Swansea City defender Ashley Williams following the former Stockport County player being named 'Wales Footballer of the Year` and 'Clubman of the Year` by the Football Association of Wales, last week.

The News of the World claim that Latics, along with Sunderland and Newcastle United are eyeing up a move for the 25 year old centre half but Williams is just one in a series of players that boss Roberto Martinez has been linked with over the past couple of weeks.

Williams has been tied down on a long term contract at the Liberty Stadium and Swansea would be unlikely to sell their star defender in January with a chance of a play-off spot at least in their sights this season.

More than likely newspaper speculation taking the easy option of linking Roberto with players at his old club

Wigan Athletic achieved their 2000th point as a league club in the 1-1 draw with Fulham

You must have some fantastic memories of games that we have achieved points in over the years, and you must have a favourite that sticks out, either from the mists of time like that first win against Rochdale or something more recent like breaking our hoodoo against Chelsea, why not jot them down and send them in and Vital Latics will publish them under the heading 2000 Memories.

Speculation or a bit of truth in there?

For some reason I can see this one happening.

Will somee tell your damn manager to stop attempting to streal our players, afterall how many goals have JS & JG given you, for that huge sum of money you still haven't fully honoured yet. So much for RM's comments about not taking Swansea players, hmmm.
