Wigan Athletic are being linked with Japan international defender Marcus Tulio Tanaka who currently plays in the J-League with Urawa Red Diamonds according to several reports in the Far East.
The 28 year old Brazil born defender is reported as saying that he has received a few offers from clubs in Europe and the Middle East with terms similar to what he is currently on at Urawa Reds.
The 30 capped international says he will speak to his agent and decide his future by 25th November, he is currently on international duty with Japan in Hong Kong, speaking to Nikkan Sports Tanaka said: 'The European and Middle East sides have presented me with terms equal to what I get now'
'I want to consult with my agent and make up my mind by 25th November after returning to Japan.
'I love Urawa Reds. This feeling of mine will never change if I leave the team. I love the supporters from the bottom of my heart. But I also want to care about my football life.'
Urawa Reds club spokeswoman Naoko Arai said: 'We are negotiating with him in all sincerity after making an offer to him.'
Tanaka has made 150 appearances for Urawa Reds scoring an impressive 45 goals in 5 years at the club; he has also scored 6 times for Japan. Along with the Latics Dutch side Feyenoord and un-named clubs from Spain and Portugal are also monitoring the situation closely.
