Wigan Athletic - New Town Centre Club Store

Wigan Athletic have today announced that they are set to open a club store smack in the middle of the town centre in the Galleries shopping complex, the store is to be called WN1 and Latics commercial manager Paul Hunt has been on to Vital to tell us all about it, he is very excited about this latest venture and to celebrate there are loads of opening deals to be had.

The club have donated to Vital Latics three Latics WN1 T-shirts signed by boss Roberto Martinez to give away as prizes, details of the competition and how to win will be announced later in the week, so lets take a look at the press release:

Latics WN1 - Ten out of ten!

Wigan Athletic Football Club have today announced that they are opening a town centre store for supporters to get closer to the Club, purchase official merchandise, buy Barclays Premier League tickets or just drop by!

In conjunction with Retail Partner Vandanel, Latics have taken over a sizeable unit in the Galleries, naming it Latics WN1, for an initial 10-week period taking us into 2010 with a view to having a permanent presence after Christmas.

Following the installation of the shop at the DW Stadium and the revitalised online presence through, the Club are looking to make it easier than ever before to follow the Latics.

To celebrate, home shirts have been reduced by £10 and with more great offers and incentives, Latics WN1 is sure to be a real crowd-pleaser, just like Roberto`s team!

Latics WN1 will open its doors for the first time this Thursday to coincide with the town centre Christmas lights being switched on. It will then be open for all supporters until the end of January before the Club and Vandanel evaluate its success.

The official launch will take place on Monday 23rd November with Roberto Martinez (details via with every 10th customer that day winning two tickets to the Latics` home game versus Sunderland on Saturday 28th November.

Latics Commercial Director Paul Hunt says, "In the three years I have been at the Club, supporters have said they wanted a club to be proud of and a store in the town centre would be further affirmation of that. Hopefully, fans can support this new venture and make it a blue and white Christmas".

Neil Burke, Managing Director of Vandanel is equally excited by the project, "Whilst Vandanel have been involved with Wigan Athletic we have supported the Club as much as we can. Latics WN1 will give fans easier access to merchandise and we look forward to welcoming as many of them through the doors as possible over the initial ten weeks."

Tickets for the Latics` fixtures will be made available, players will be making appearances and special offers will be given to all shoppers with a Retail Partners opportunity to be offered to other retailers to partner the Club.

See the latest updates at, purchase online or visit the store at the DW Stadium within the Springfield Stand (West) or in Standish Gallery (opposite Marks and Spencer).
