In the build up to the game at White Hart Lane against Tottenham Hotspur, Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has spoken about Spurs, Harry Redknapp, Wilson Palacios, the game and much, much more, lets see what he has had to say, over to you Roberto:
'Over the last 16 months Spurs have been improving steadily and in every transfer window they've looked to strengthen, which has given them a fantastic squad'
'It's a club that has a special feel about it, a team that plays a certain style and they're exciting to watch. With that in mind I think it will be a really open game and a great advert for Premier League football.
'Harry's (Redknapp) curriculum speaks for itself. I have the utmost respect for him and I'm a big admirer of the work he has done throughout his career.
'His management skills have made him successful in every environment he's been in, and now he's putting together a team who are competing with the very best in the Premier League.
'I think the central midfield area is going to see a lot of action.
'The way Spurs play, and the talent they have in that area is key to their game. In the same respect we have great strength in our midfield to stand up to that threat, so it's certainly going to be a tough battle, to get hold of the ball.
'So I'm expecting an open encounter, played at a high tempo with plenty of chances. I think the result is going to depend on who shows that coolness in front of goal.
'Of course there will be an interesting battle in the centre of midfield. When you look at Wilson's (Palacios) past and the feelings our club have for him, everyone is going to be watching him throughout the game. And of course now his fellow countryman Hendry Thomas is playing for us and when the two go up against each other it's going to be very interesting.
'But all over the park there are some very exciting individuals, who are going to have some big duels on the day.
'The nature of the two teams suggests it's going to be an exciting game of football, and we're going to have to be at our best if we're going to compete against a side looking to close in on the top-four.'
To me it sounds like Roberto is really looking forward to this game, lets hope the lads perform well and we can bring some points back up the M6.
